Platform Rules

Long Play is a presentation-first video platform built for thoughtful creators.

These rules exist to protect creators, viewers, and the long-term integrity of the platform.

Core principles

Creators retain full ownership of their work
No algorithmic ranking, engagement chasing, or gamification
No public metrics, comments, or popularity signals
Calm, respectful, and lawful use only

Prohibited content

Pornographic or explicit sexual content
Non-consensual, exploitative, or abusive material
Content that sexualises, exploits, or endangers minors in any way. Such content will be removed immediately and reported to relevant authorities.
Hate speech, harassment, or threats
Violence or graphic harm intended to shock
Content that violates copyright or intellectual property
Illegal or deceptive activity

Political content is allowed, but must not promote violence, targeted harassment, or misinformation. We aim to remain neutral as a platform and avoid becoming a political amplification engine.

AI generated content

AI generated content is permitted on Long Play. Creators are responsible for disclosing when AI has been used to generate significant elements of their work — including AI-generated visuals, voices, or scenes. Using AI for colour correction, audio cleanup, subtitles, or other finishing work does not require disclosure. Long Play reserves the right to add an AI disclosure label if it becomes aware of undisclosed significant AI-generated content.

Mature content

Mature content is permitted on Long Play but must be flagged during upload using the mature content option. Flagged videos display a visible Mature content label on the browse page, homepage, genre pages, and creator profiles. They are excluded from Surprise Me only. Viewers can hide mature content from browse using the browse filter. Creators are responsible for flagging their own content accurately.

Enforcement and moderation

We reserve the right to review, restrict, or remove content that risks harm, legal exposure, or platform trust. Creators will be notified when action is taken unless safety or legal urgency prevents it. Long Play does not police tone or subject matter. We ask creators to use the mature content flag and exercise good judgement about what they publish.

If an account is terminated for serious rule violations, the creator will lose access to hosted content. However creators can always download their original uploaded files at any time before termination takes effect. We encourage all creators to maintain their own copies.

Creator responsibility

By uploading, creators confirm:

They own the rights or have permission to publish the content
The content does not violate laws or third-party rights
They accept responsibility for what they publish

These rules may evolve as Long Play grows.

Our goal is not punishment — it is long-term trust, safety, and sustainability.

Platform liability

Long Play provides the platform on an “as-is” basis. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Long Play’s liability for any claim arising from use of the platform — including data loss, service outages, or feature unavailability — is limited to subscription fees paid by the claimant in the 12 months preceding the incident. Long Play is not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages. Creator content is stored with third-party infrastructure providers who operate under their own terms of service, including their own limitations of liability for stored data. Creators are strongly encouraged to maintain independent copies of their original files. Nothing in this section excludes rights under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
