About Long Play
Long Play is a calm, presentation-first video platform for thoughtful creators.
It is intended for people who care about how their work is seen - not how it performs in an algorithm.
Long Play itself never sells ads or inserts advertising - and there are no public metrics or trending feeds. The platform prioritises clarity, longevity, and trust between creators and viewers instead of performance pressure. Creators can optionally run their own sponsor ads, but Long Play never inserts one a creator didn't choose.
Creators can share their work via direct links, private screeners, embeds, or curated collections - without chasing feeds or algorithms.
Most platforms chase reach and constant activity. Long Play is built around presentation, full control, and a calm rhythm.
Creators always retain ownership. There are no social mechanics, comment battles, or performance dashboards - it feels closer to a portfolio, screening room, or private library than a content feed.

Why we built this
Long Play was built by someone who has spent their career in professional video - as an editor, producer, and broadcast television professional. After years of watching platforms compress, clutter, and algorithmically bury work that people cared deeply about, we decided to build something different. Not bigger. Just better. A place where the work comes first and stays there.
Our goal is a stable home for work that deserves to be seen gently and kept forever.
On VHS recorders, Long Play let you fit more onto a tape, though usually with a drop in quality. We liked the idea, but not the compromise. Long Play has no compromise - and leaves the quality loss back in the 90s.
Long Play acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and honour the enduring connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to land, culture, and community.
