Migrating from another platform
Moving a back catalogue to Long Play is a manual process - there's no bulk or one-click import today. Here's the practical path, and how to get the best possible quality out of it.
Upload a few at a time
On the Creator plan, you can select or drag up to 3 files at once on your upload page - you can queue up to 3, and they upload and process one at a time. On the Pro plan, that's up to 6 at once. This is by design, so each video gets the same encoding attention rather than being rushed through a shared queue. Your other queued videos may take a little longer to be ready; that's normal.
On the Free plan, uploads are one at a time.
Either way, this is still a manual move rather than a bulk import - there's no one-click "pull everything from another platform" option, so you'll work through your back catalogue in batches, choosing and uploading the files yourself.
Upload your original export, not a re-download
This is the single biggest quality decision you'll make. If you still have the original file you exported when you first published elsewhere - your master - upload that, not a copy downloaded back from another platform.
Other platforms re-compress everything you give them. A file downloaded from one of them has already been through that compression once, so it's a generation lower in quality before you even start. Long Play encodes from your original using encoding built to broadcast expectations, so starting from your master gets you the best result we can produce.
If the original is genuinely all you have left, upload that anyway - re-encoding a compressed copy won't bring back quality that's already gone, but it's still worth having on Long Play. Just dig out the master first if there's any chance you still have it somewhere.
Your originals stay yours
Long Play keeps your original file intact - we don't re-compress it into the only copy you can get back, and your uploads are never used to train AI.
Recreating your series and playlists
Once your videos are up, group them the way they were organised elsewhere using collections - series, seasons, or screening programmes all map naturally. If the originals had a watch order, turn on "This is a sequence" so viewers get the same Prev/Next flow.
