Upload limits and quotas

Long Play measures your library by duration, not file size - so a large 4K file doesn't eat into your quota any more than a smaller one at the same runtime.

Plan limits

  • Free: up to 18 GB per file; up to 10 hours of video total
  • Creator: up to 45 GB per file; up to 50 hours of video total
  • Pro: up to 70 GB per file; up to 150 hours of video total

Duration is tracked to the second and rounded down to the nearest minute when displayed. A 90-second video counts as 1 minute of quota.

File size and quota

File size doesn't count toward quota. Your library is measured in hours of video, not gigabytes. The per-file size limit (18 GB / 45 GB / 70 GB) is a cap on individual uploads only.

Several channels, one quota

If your account runs more than one channel, your hours are one shared pool across all of them. Moving a video to another channel doesn't change your usage.

What counts toward quota

Only your uploaded videos count. Encoding renditions don't add to your quota. Deleting a video returns that duration to your allowance.

Grace margin

There's a 10% grace margin built in - a 10-hour plan enforces at 11 hours, a 50-hour plan at 55 hours. If a new upload would put you just over your limit, we'll accept it.

Single upload cap

A single upload can't exceed 3 hours in duration, regardless of plan.

Multi-file uploads

On the Creator plan, you can select or drag up to 3 files at once - they're uploaded and processed one at a time. On the Pro plan, that's up to 6 files at once. On the Free plan, uploads are one file at a time.

If you need more space, see Free, Creator, and Pro plans compared for a full breakdown of what each plan includes.
