Fundraiser and Charity Links

Long Play has two places you can add a support or fundraising link: your creator profile (for ongoing support) and individual videos (for specific campaigns or one-off fundraisers).

Profile support link

Your creator profile has a "Support link" field under External links in your profile settings. It accepts Patreon and Ko-fi URLs only, and shows as a "Support this creator" button on your public channel page.

This is intended for ongoing creator support - a standing Patreon page or Ko-fi tip jar that applies to your channel in general, not a specific project.

Per-video fundraiser link

You can also add a fundraising or charity link to any individual video. When set, a button appears on the watch page linking to the campaign. The button is clearly marked as leaving Long Play.

Go to your video settings and scroll to the "Fundraiser / charity link" field below the IMDB link. Paste your campaign URL, choose a button label, and save.

Button labels

Choose the label that best fits your campaign:

  • Support this cause - charity, social impact, cause-driven work
  • Back this project - crowdfunding via Kickstarter or Indiegogo
  • Fund this film - documentary or narrative film campaigns
  • Support this creator - ongoing creator support via Patreon or Ko-fi
  • Donate - direct and universal, works for any charity
  • View our campaign - neutral, works for anything

Accepted platforms (A-Z)

Long Play does not endorse or recommend any of these platforms. They are listed here in alphabetical order only. You are responsible for ensuring your campaign complies with the terms and conditions of the platform you use.

  • Chuffed (chuffed.org)
  • GlobalGiving (globalgiving.org)
  • GoFundMe (gofundme.com)
  • Indiegogo (indiegogo.com)
  • JustGiving (justgiving.com)
  • Kickstarter (kickstarter.com)
  • Ko-fi (ko-fi.com)
  • Patreon (patreon.com)
  • Pozible (pozible.com)

URLs from other domains will not be accepted. If you use a legitimate fundraising platform that is not listed above, contact support and we will review adding it.

Long Play's position

Long Play is not a party to any fundraising arrangement and takes no responsibility for campaigns, platforms, or donations made through them. Adding a link does not constitute an endorsement by Long Play of the cause, the campaign, or the platform. Misuse of this feature - for example, linking to personal payment pages or non-charitable commercial requests - is against platform policy and may result in the link being removed.
